About Dr. Murphy
Dr. James Murphy has practiced in Suffern since 1999, completing his hospital dentistry residency at Good Samaritan Hospital just down the road. With over 26 years of experience, he is one of the most seasoned general and surgical dentists in Rockland County.
His special expertise is in oral surgery — wisdom tooth extractions, complex surgical extractions, bone grafting, and IV sedation for anxious patients. He is fully licensed for IV sedation in New York State and has completed advanced cardiac life support training.
Dr. Murphy is the go-to provider for emergency referrals from general dentists throughout Rockland County. Severe toothaches, fractured teeth, and post-operative complications are handled promptly — he blocks time every morning for walk-in emergencies.
A Suffern resident himself, Dr. Murphy is involved in local youth sports and has sponsored community health fairs for over a decade.
